My Name is Athena Broaddus and I want to play College Softball.  I have been playing competative softball since I was 8 years old.   I started at 3rd base and Catcher then at 11 I decided to become a pitcher.  I have worked with some of the best Pitching coaches in the area like Lori Zook, Tracy Bunge, and Kelly Gragert.

There is nothing like the rush of standing on that mound facing down some of the greatest hitters with 8 other girls guarding your back!

My ultimate goal is to play College softball while studying to become a dentist.   Eventually returning to my hometown to open a dental practice while helping my local community.

Community Service

I Graduated from Royal Valley High School in May of 2025 with High Honors, and a 3.95 GPA.  During my High School days, I have donated many hours to helping the community, including volunteering at Royal Valley Elementary and with the local Royal Valley REC association.  Volunteering time in the elementary classroom I often spent time working in multiple classrooms on the same day, or in classrooms and the office on the same day.  Volunteering with the REC started as an on-call basis whenever they needed help and eventually turned into working their concession stand on multiple occasions by myself and sometimes training others to work the concessions.  My summers often involved working with REC staff to maintain, update, or prep the local REC fields for games. Volunteering in the classrooms and for the REC, led to developing several mentoring relationships with younger athletes at Royal Valley and the surrounding area.  These relationships eventually led to continual training sessions for youth athletes during my High School career. Throughout my High School years, I was also fully involved in coaching youth sports, as a mentor and as an assistant coach.  Continuing to grow relationships and giving back to my community will continue to be a life goal of mine.

You can't replace the quality a person that she is, the quality worker and positive energy person doesn't come into the program everyday.
